The Jordanian House of Representatives approved on Monday the resumption of mandatory military service for men, effective next year, after the law was suspended for over 30 years. The decision marks a significant shift in the country's defense policy.
"This law is crucial for protecting our sovereignty and ensuring citizen security," stated the Speaker of Parliament during the vote. He noted that the measure will help reduce the burden on the professional army and enhance the readiness of reserve forces.
