Jordan National Team Wins First Match in Dubai

The Jordanian national basketball team, led by DeMarco Dixon's last-second three-pointer, clinched a thrilling victory over Oman with a score of 97-96 in Dubai.


The national team of Jordan achieved its first victory at the Dubai Basketball Tournament, defeating Uniteed from Amman, Jordan, with a score of 97-96 in the final seconds of the match, which took place on Sunday. This match was part of the third round of the group stage. "Our game creator, Di Marco Dickson, led the team to victory thanks to a successful three-point shot in the last seconds, including his 24 points, with which he ended the game," said the coach after the match. During the first timeout, the team maintained its advantage, leading 30-25 and 22-16 in the first and second quarters, respectively. However, at the beginning of the second timeout, the players of the Jordanian team showed resurgence, dominating in the third quarter with a score of 32-20 and earning a minimal advantage as they entered the last quarter of the match. Despite starting in which the Jordanians held the lead, the team managed to bridge the gap and win this quarter with a score of 25-22, finishing the game with a hard-fought victory of 97-96. Tomorrow, the national team will face the group leader, a team from Beirut, Lebanon, and will strive for its second victory, considering the unsuccessful start of the tournament, losing in the first game against "Strong Group" from the Philippines with a score of 91-99.
