Salami described the opening matches in such tournaments as very important in terms of the result, confirming that the Jordanian team has great ambitions to go far in the tournament, considering that the Arab Cup matches represent an opportunity to prepare the team for the 2026 World Cup finals. During the pre-match press conference, the Jordanian coach indicated that the 'Al-Ansar' team seeks to achieve a positive result in the first match, and that he is fully aware of the magnitude of the responsibility placed on him and his players to ensure a good start. Salami also touched on the criticism directed at him, saying: 'Criticism is a natural part of the game. I have faced this criticism since I took over coaching the Jordanian national team, and this is normal for me.' He added: 'For me as a coach, I accept criticism, but my goals and strategy with the team are clear, and I will strive to achieve them no matter the circumstances.' Salami confirmed that the UAE team has undergone significant changes recently, especially after the last playoff match in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, but he stressed that Jordan is ready to face 'Al-Abid' and continue competing strongly. He also expressed his wish that the Jordanian team avoids facing Morocco in the draw for the 2026 World Cup finals, but stressed that the current focus is on the Arab Cup and building a team capable of competing.
