The International Monetary Fund (IMF) confirmed on Sunday that Jordan is applying the latest international practices in preparing national accounts, following the completion of a comprehensive process to rebase and update the base year to 2023. This resulted in raising the value of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 39.8 billion dinars, an increase of 10% over previous estimates. The IMF's Resident Representative in Amman, Yahya Said, explained that the review process, which lasted four years and was carried out by the Department of Statistics with technical support from the IMF and ESCWA, adopted the latest guidelines of the System of National Accounts and the Standard Industrial Classification (revision 4).
