Documentary 'Tell Them About Us' Premieres in Egypt

In the film-documentary "Tell Them We are Here", created by director Rand Bairouti from Jordan, the story of a group of girls is told, who arrived as refugees with their families in Germany and are experiencing the transition of adolescence, while simultaneously struggling with external resistance in search of opportunities to realize their ambitions in a society where immigrants are regarded as a burden, especially if they wear a hijab.

At the beginning of the film, which was first presented at the film festival in Hurghada, Egypt, the director invites each girl to record her wish, but reality turns out to be different. After finishing school and learning the German language in the accepted volume, the girls face a single choice - to work as a maid in private homes due to the deficiency of medical workers. At this moment, the filmmaker transitions from the role of an observer and documentalist to the role of "a magician", realizing dreams, albeit virtually.
