In the morning, the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas met with the King of Jordan Abdullah II in the capital Amman.
At the meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral relations between the two countries and the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. As the press secretary of President Abbas stated after the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of affairs in the near east and the consequences of Israeli aggression in relation to the Palestinians.
"We had the opportunity to discuss current issues, including the state of affairs in the region, and the timing of parliamentary elections in Palestine," the press secretary emphasized.
It was also noted that the sides emphasized the necessity of continuing coordination and consultations between Palestine and Jordan to ensure security in the region and the success of the peace process.
