The Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Saturday that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted 79 missiles and drones launched by Iran at "vital sites" within the kingdom during the second week of the war waged by Israel and the United States against Iran. According to a statement from the Jordanian Armed Forces' Military Media Directorate, 85 missiles and drones were launched directly from Iran towards Jordanian territory last week, targeting "vital" Jordanian sites. The statement added that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted 79 missiles and drones, while defenses failed to stop five drones and one missile, causing them to fall within Jordanian territory. It confirmed that "the Jordanian Armed Forces are determined to fulfill their duty to defend the homeland and protect it from any aggression, and are working to dedicate all efforts and capabilities to maintain the security of the kingdom and its citizens." Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that 93 fragments resulting from missiles and drones fell in most provinces last week, injuring nine people with moderate injuries. Director of Jordanian Military Media, Brigadier General Mustafa Al-Hayari, accused Iran last Saturday of targeting the country's vital facilities, stressing that the 119 missiles and drones it launched at Jordan during the first week of the war were not "transient".
